UNIVERSAL MARIMBA COMPOSITION COMPETITION APPLICATION 2026
 

General Information

  • The Competition is open to composers of all nationalities and ages - there is no age limit.
  • Applicants must submit the application form together with proof of payment before the deadline of June 1st, 2026.
  • All required materials must be submitted electronically before the deadline of June 15th, 2026. .
  • Each competitor may participate in one or more disciplines, with a maximum of one work per discipline.


Competition Categories

  • Marimba Solo

  • Marimba Duo

  • Marimba Chamber Music
    (from duo up to quintet formation – all instrumental combinations allowed; at least one main marimba part required)

  • Marimba Ensemble (small to large ensemble)

  • Marimba Concerto
    (for Marimba Solo with small to large orchestra - string, wind, or symphonic; a piano reduction is required)

Use of additional tape is allowed.


Registration and Communication

After the organization receives the application form, each competitor will be assigned a registration number. 
This number must be indicated on all documents, bank transfer descriptions, and any further communication.

It is the competitor’s responsibility to inform the organization of any changes to their contact or email address. 
If the organization is unable to reach the competitor due to such changes, the application may be cancelled.


Application

  • To complete your application, please submit the following before June 1st, 2026: 

  1. Signed application form

  2. One high-quality headshot photo

  3. A short curriculum vitae (in English)

  4. A copy of the bank receipt documenting the payment of the entry fee

  • To complete your participation, ensure that all materials are delivered electronically before June 1st, 2026. 


Entry Fee

  • The entry fee is €50 (net) per work / discipline (excluding bank transfer costs).

  • Payment must be made by bank transfer to Marimba Projects vzw before the deadline of June 1st, 2026.

  • The applicant's name, registration number, and "UMCC 2026" must be included in the bank discription.  

  • The entry fee is non-refundable.  .

  • Applications will be cancelled if the transfer is not completed before the deadline.
