COMPETITION ACCOMMODATION 2026
It is recommended that all candidates and visitors stay at Hotel Stayen, a partner of the Universal Marimba Competition. The hotel is conveniently located near the Competition hall in Sint-Truiden. For candidates and visitors, Hotel Stayen offers single and double rooms, including a generous breakfast buffet, swimming pool, restaurant, spa & fitness facilities, and more. For those seeking a more luxurious stay, we recommend Hotel Hof van Stayen.
Please note that there are only a few hotels in Sint-Truiden. Due to the tourist high season and high demand for hotel rooms, we strongly advise booking your accommodation well in advance.

Please inform the hotel that you are a candidate of the Marimba Competition.It is required to inform the Competition of your hotel reservation so that you can be reached if necessary during the Competition.

Hotel Stayen is located at 20’ walk from the competition hall and 5’ walk from the train station. This beautiful hotel offers standard- and comfort rooms with or without breakfast. Rental bikes are available at the hotel.

Opened in 2009; Hotel Stayen in Sint-Truiden is located near the city center, just a 20-minute walk from the Competition Academic Hall and 5 minutes from th erailway station. The modern hotel offers 77 guest rooms equipped with high-speed wireless Internet and flat-screen televisions. The hotel also features an in-house restaurant and bar, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, as well as an outdoor terrace overlooking the fields of a local fitst ranking football club.
In addition, Hotel Hof van Stayen, opened in 2019, is located across from Hotel Stayen, surrounded by fruit fields. From April till October, we recommend renting bicycles at the hotel or in the city center for 10 Eur a day to follow the “Blooming Route”, which showcases the colors and scents of the locally grown fruit fields. You can also reach the Competition Academic Hall in just 5 minutes by bike.
