Sergei Golovko is a renowned percussion soloist, performer, and educator known for his vibrant interpretations of famous compositions and his compositions, which showcase his masterful marimba technique. Music critic Michael Easton has praised his performances as "percussion pyrotechnics" and described himas a "man with helium hands." Sergei hastoured worldwide as a marimba soloist, performing at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Wiener Musikverein in Austria. Sergei isthe Founder and Director of the Australian Percussion Academy (APA) in Melbourne, offering high-quality education in orchestral percussion and marimba performance since 2010. His teaching methods emphasise technique, musicality, and precision. Additionally, Sergei's instructional literature, arrangements, and compositions for solo marimba and percussion ensembles are published through Edition Svitzer (Denmark) and his own SG Music Publishing and Australian Percussion Academy Pty Ltd. Sergei Golovko's expertise in marimba and percussion is widely recognized, as evidenced by his frequent invitations to participate in international juries for marimba and percussion competitions. These include the Universal Marimba Competition in Belgium, the World Percussion Movement Marimba and Percussion Competition in Italy, the In Percussion Festival and Competition in Costa Rica, the Percutiendo Festival in Medellín, Colombia, the Jeju International Brass and Percussion Competition in South Korea, and others. His role as a judge in these prestigious competitions further underscores his influence and recognition in the field. 

Over 18 years, Sergei was appointed an International Master Educator and Artist Endorser by Malletech (USA). He presented workshops, master classes, and percussion clinics worldwide. Sergei is also the Founder and Artistic Director of the Australian Marimba Competition, recognised worldwide as one of the major international competitions for young marimbists. As a Marimba Artist with ADAMS Company in Holland and an International Artist with GROVER in the US, Sergei Golovko is not only a master percussionist but also a source of inspiration for his students.
